Batman: *walks in on his children speaking in hushed tones and huddled by the Batcomputer, with Tim at the helm*
Red Hood: Dudes, what makes you think the old man’s not gonna know that we used his tech to do this?
Nightwing: If he does find out, I’ll handle it, okay? Aren’t you guys even the least bit curious of how many by now?
The Signal: Well, okay, I guess I am now. Let’s do this.
Robin: Father is going to be disappointed at this idiocy.
Red Robin: Pssh. Like that’s stopping you. Besides, this is the only computer on this Earth that can log on to Tumb–
Red Robin: I just got goosebumps. Guys, why did I just get goosebumps? And why isn’t anyone talking to me? Guys?
Red Robin: *slowly turns his seat*
Batman: *with narrowed eyes* Hrrrn.
Nigthwing: *smiling sheepishly* Heyyyy Bruuuuce…
Red Hood: *covering his mouth to stifle his giggling*
The Signal: We – we were just – uhhh –
Robin: I warned them, Father!
Red Robin: Why, you little – *lunges at Damian*
Nightwing: *jumps in to break Tim and Damian apart*
The Signal: *runs to the kitchen to get Alfred*
Red Hood: *takes out his phone and starts recording everything*
Batman:
Batman: *walks past his sons’ wrestling match to the Batcomputer*
Batman: *enters the password to the Tumblr account and looks at the number of followers*
Batman: Hn.

Tag: My Thoughts
#the robins as
Feeling inspired (but admittedly slow to get to the actual work of responding and writing)… But open to more “The Robins as…” suggestions.
That being said, know that the only Robins I’m comfortable writing for are Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian since I’m not well-versed in their other siblings.
Do you ever just…
come across a post and you’re immediately like, “I am so gonna HEART this” only to scroll to the end of it and realize that you already have and you just read that post as if you haven’t before? And you’re like, “Still resonates with me. Huh.”
#the robins as
If you’re familiar with this tag o’ mine, I’m open to suggestions (as part of my celebrating the New Year with you guys).
I love imagining the Bat-sons in the most mundane, day-to-day, slice-of-life scenarios – think pet owners, gym rats, dance instructors, etc.
I can’t promise I’ll get around to every suggestion, but we’ll see.
P.S. The reason I’ve only been writing these for Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian is because they’re the ones I feel closest to. Apart from Bruce, they’re the ones I’m more well-aquainted with, so.
Ask.
Rewatching “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016) for the nth time.
When Lex answers the phone while inside the Kryptonian vessel and expects one of his men to break the news to him and instead hears Batman’s gruff, deadpan-but-menacing voice at the end of the line: “I’d rather do the breaking in person”.
How absolutely Batman is that? It’s the most Batman to ever Batman. I found it so adorable that I wanted to grab him and hug him as if he were a puppy with bat ears.
I’m watching it all on HBO now. I thought I’d be tired of the film by now. Admittedly, it’s not as exciting as the first gazillion times I watched it, but I continue to find things to appreciate even further.
Mr. Snyder, I’m thiiis close to getting a Vero account just to say THANK YOU.
Clearly, I am a DC fan. Comics, TV shows, cartoons, films, etc. Clearly. It is the comic book universe I identify with.
But I do enjoy a lot of the products of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And I’ve found my favorite one, Marvel-wise, and it joins my top picks superhero-genre-wise.
“Black Panther” (2018) did not disappoint. I’ve been wanting to see it since the first trailer I watched. (Not even because of the upcoming “Infinity War” or what not. It just looked awesome.)
And, man, would I like to watch it again.
No details for now. No analysis yet. It’s just… it’s as imaginative, intellectual, progressive, political, entertaining, meaningful and cohesive a film as I could ask.
(Plus, I may have fallen in love with the Wakandan people and developed a crush on their rightful king.)
Disclaimer: I have not read a single “Black Panther” comic book in my life, so I appreciate the mythos for however it was presented in the movie.
When you’re at a comic book store and all a teeny four-year-old (?) boy seems to recognize is “Batman!”. (And some Spiderman, too.)
Yes, sweetheart. That’s Batman. And Batman is a poppa who loves him some babies. So, watch out.
You are trapped in an elevator with the person on your lockscreen. Who is it?
Reblog with who you get stuck with~
Brooding Batman. Woohoo!
(Oh, sorry. Was “Brooding Batman” redundant?)
I’ve been thinking of getting a Twitter account.
For the sole purpose of telling Mr. Zack Snyder that his DC films, especially “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016), still make me cry. That he’s a visionary of a storyteller. That his films are beautiful on the inside and out. That as a fellow fan of DC comics, I truly felt my superheroes come to life, and not in the “Oh, look, a superhero! Cool!” kind of way, but more of a “What if I’m not 100% okay with having this superhero around my family?” kind of way. That I want to thank him for taking such a bold risk, for the amount of thought he puts into every shot and hope that it’ll ignite a flame in whomever’s watching. That he belongs to a rare breed of director. And that I hope he and his family are healing.
That’s it. That’s all I’d want the Twitter account for. Tweet him, then delete the account. That’s. It.
You know what I love?
The four main Robins having very different origin stories, antagonizing each other (almost to literal death) at one point or another, then eventually uniting because of their deep sense of love for and loyalty to Bruce, their mission to save as many innocent lives as they can, and, of course, to each other (whether they admit it or not).
They have so little and so much in common that it makes for such an interesting dynamic every time they share panels. (Regardless of how “horrible” the writing seems.)
I, um, think about this a lot.
