Jason Tim’s about half a wreck, huh?
Dick: Yeah, so why do you pick on him?
Jason: I… Oh, was that not rhetorical?

Finding out that their teenaged brother tried smoking a cigarette…
Dick [about Tim]: He’s lying to me! Can you believe that? Where is this family’s morality?
Jason: I don’t know.
Jason: *a puff of smoke suddenly escapes his mouth*
Dick: What’s that?
Jason: It’s cold out here.
Mornings at the Manor…
Dick: *scouring cabinets for the last box of Lucky Charms*
Jason: *sipping tea*
Tim: *working on his laptop, half a waffle hanging from his mouth*
Damian: *enters the kitchen looking solemn*
Damian: Drake. I need you to teach me how to be… a douchebag.
Dick and Jason:
Tim:
Tim: Let’s get started.
Tim and Damian: *walk out of the kitchen*
Jason: What is happening in the world?
When Wally met Dick…
Robin: *wearing a green scaly leotard*
Kid Flash: What am I looking at here, Robin? Hero to hero, didn’t you want to wear something a little more form-flattering? Like a pile of towels?
Dick: Tim, I have to ask you a favor. It’s about my clothes…
Jason: *from his bedroom across the hall* Burn them! Burn them all!
When your son’s pretty chummy with “Fun Uncle Supes”…
Bruce [to Dick]: Clark is inviting you to lunch at the Fortress.
Bruce: Hn.
Bruce: The good thing is, I get to come, too.
Bruce: It’s tough love.
Dick: You do know that there are other kinds, right?
Trying to comfort your younger brother before your return to Blüdhaven be like…
Dick: There comes a time when big brothers leave the nest, Damian.
So, wow, thank you…
I just saw how many followers this blog has as of today, and I’m in awe.
I have all those brilliant film, TV, and song writers who came up with such amusing, deep, or iconic lines to thank. I’m really just borrowing their work and creating a context around them based on comic canon (and, occasionally, my own headcanons). It won’t always be accurate, but the point is to make it fun and imaginable.
I see a quote, and 90% of the time, I’ll instantly have a character in mind to “speak” it and a situation in which the conversation could happen. That’s how rich the DC Universe is. Years and years of material to draw inspiration from.
I do re-word some dialogue to fit the context I want (or because the grammar seems uncomfortably off to me).
I love the slice-of-life kind of things, and I do imagine that even superheroes have very mundane, domestic (even silly) moments that give them joy in between those of chaos and conflict.
So, for those of you who follow because you’re just as amused, inspired, and fangirl-y as I am, thanks for dropping by!
(A shout out to those who support my other Tumblr blog, a-wayne-at-heart, as well!)
Why Dick is Damian’s favorite older brother…
Tim [about Damian]: In a way, I think we learned more from him than he learned from us.
Jason: Well, obviously. Because we taught him nothing.
