I love how Bruce has a unique relationship with each of his “children”, that he deals with each of them in a very specific manner. And, this is not him playing favorites, but seeing what each of them needs.
I love how he doesn’t try to be the “Dad of the Year”, that he absorbs all their resentment towards him, but stays firm in his decisions if it means keeping them safe from any form of harm. Bruce is notorious for constantly having his guard up since he’s aware of how much deep emotional ties can compromise a person and his mission. Deep emotional ties. He has it with each of them, which is why he tries to stay focused, so that it doesn’t become a liability and cost a life.
I love how parenting seems to be the greatest challenge to a well-known expert in many fields, a superhero highly respected by the most respected league of superheroes in the (DC) universe. He’s very flawed at it, but he tries anyway.
And, I love how Alfred shows him how to become a father by being an amazing example himself.
When I started reading comics in the Batman universe, I came for the man, but stayed for the family.
