tbh… the more I learn about camerawork and cinematography, the more impressed I am with batman v superman’s cinematography and frame composition. I’m not interested in talking about if you liked the writing, because that’s a different animal, but the film is shot beyond-perfectly. hot damn the level of detail that went into every frame is so inspirational.
this shot of people crowing around supes could really be a baroque or caravaggio painting. the contrast, the warm lighting, the way everyone flocks around him
and this silhouetted shot of lois detective-ing™ has big casablanca/noir energy. the way she’s framed by the bridge within the frame makes it feel so much more secretive and special, ugh I love it
then there’s the iconic batsuit shot which plays off of the whole thing in cinema theory where basically the ‘eyes reveal the soul’, so they rigged a hair light (light shining down) above the batsuit case so that shadows block out the suit’s eyes, and subconsciously cues you in on batman being more unhinged in this story. Plus all the texture in the background gives the frame all this ridiculous impressive detail. ugh I can’t imagine how many hours of work went into this whole film, it’s overwhelming to think about it, but hot dang does it make me love movies even more!
Dick and Jason: *watching as Tim downs his fourth cup of coffee, spilling some on his ketchup and mustard-stained shirt, burps loudly, and wipes dried slobber off his face*
Dick: *sighs*
Jason: I love him, but if he’s broken, let’s ask Bruce not to get a new one.
Hello back! I appreciate this question, actually. In all honesty, I feel like I still don’t know enough of some of the other family members/friends to give each of them their own tag (so I’m trying to stay in my lane).
As for the ones I’m more familiar with (especially Bruce and Alfred), I’m still waiting for tags that’re hopefully unique (‘cause there are really awesome tags out there), fairly accurate, and pull at my heartstrings to come to mind.
(Yup, I just said “my heartstrings” because every single tag comes from a place of affection for each character/nuance.)
