tbh… the more I learn about camerawork and cinematography, the more impressed I am with batman v superman’s cinematography and frame composition. I’m not interested in talking about if you liked the writing, because that’s a different animal, but the film is shot beyond-perfectly. hot damn the level of detail that went into every frame is so inspirational.

this shot of people crowing around supes could really be a baroque or caravaggio painting. the contrast, the warm lighting, the way everyone flocks around him

and this silhouetted shot of lois detective-ing™ has big casablanca/noir energy. the way she’s framed by the bridge within the frame makes it feel so much more secretive and special, ugh I love it

then there’s the iconic batsuit shot which plays off of the whole thing in cinema theory where basically the ‘eyes reveal the soul’, so they rigged a hair light (light shining down) above the batsuit case so that shadows block out the suit’s eyes, and subconsciously cues you in on batman being more unhinged in this story. Plus all the texture in the background gives the frame all this ridiculous impressive detail. ugh I can’t imagine how many hours of work went into this whole film, it’s overwhelming to think about it, but hot dang does it make me love movies even more!

okay, wow

Paintball war at the Manor…

Dick: *whispering* Why did the Resurrected Robins stop firing?

Tim: *listening to every sound* I don’t know… They’re probably out of ammo.

Jason: *yelling from a makeshift fort in Damian’s room* Hey, Fake-Dead Robins, we are giving you a chance to surrender!

Dick: *aims his paintball marker at the draped Batman bedsheet* Yeah, they’re definitely out of ammo.

incorrect-batfamily-quotes:

Nightwing: *singing NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye”*

Robin: *abruptly hits the Batmobile brakes*

Nightwing: *slumps back into the passenger seat and takes an earphone out of his ear*

Robin: You know what I find annoying?

Nightwing: Me?

Robin: *grabs Dick’s earphones, chucks them out of the window, and floors the gas pedal* Yes.

Hello. Was just curious about something…Will the rest of the fam and friends have their own tags too or is it just the boys for now? I find the tags adorable and am curious to see what you might use for the others. ☺

Hello back! I appreciate this question, actually. In all honesty, I feel like I still don’t know enough of some of the other family members/friends to give each of them their own tag (so I’m trying to stay in my lane).

As for the ones I’m more familiar with (especially Bruce and Alfred), I’m still waiting for tags that’re hopefully unique (‘cause there are really awesome tags out there), fairly accurate, and pull at my heartstrings to come to mind.

(Yup, I just said “my heartstrings” because every single tag comes from a place of affection for each character/nuance.)

Thank you for dropping by, @wingedskyes . 🙂
