We already know that Batman in BvS is still traumatized and haunted by his parents’ death, especially his mother’s as apparent in his nightmares. His mother who stood in front of him, fought with the robber and died. He became Batman because he was helpless during that fateful night in crime alley, to clean up Gotham and so on.

I just love that in the confrontation scene in BvS, Batman was unwilling to listen at first, thinking he was right and to him, at that very moment, killing Superman was justified. Eventually, it ended up with Batman being taken back to his senses, not blinded by grief and rage anymore, and is willing to listen and understand. I just love how in that moment he became the person he needed the most when he was younger and helpless in that alley.. He became that person to another son who needed help saving his mother. And at the core of that movie was family, compassion, and hope.

The DCEU really puts emphasis in family, love, duty, hope and compassion. From Man of Steel to Wonder Woman and I’m optimistic that the trend will continue to future dceu films.
