When Bruce drives the Batmobile, with any variety of his sidekicks, if he makes sudden stops he automatically does that Parent Arm-Seatbelt Maneuver regardless of how old the Robin or Batgirl is.
Batmobile: *scrrrtch!!!*
Bruce: *arm*
Dick: seriously?? I’m 29!!!It gets so natural for him that at some point when he has Clark in the car with him and he has to slam in the breaks his arm goes out, leaving them both looking at each other awkwardly.
“Umm Batman.” Clark starts
Bruce’s hand is gone like lightning. “Not a word. Not. A. Word.”
And he speeds off again
Imagine Bruce doing it with Jason and both realizing that Bruce just by instinct protects his wayward son without hesitation. When he removes his arm, he clears his throat to get rid of the awkward silence, while Jason just sits there unsure of what just happened, because he and Bruce never touch each other. Under his breath, Jason mutters: “A crowbar’s fine but a car crash is a no-no”.
Imagine Dick inheriting the skill and doing this with Damian, though.
“grayson i don’t need your protecting stop being – grayson? what’s wrong?” “holy shit i’m turning into bruce.”
Damian grounding out, “Not a word,” to Jon.
Where’s that comment where, when it’s Tim, he’s asleep when it happens and wakes up confused as to why Dick’s hand is on his chest? :))
